We are underway toward outdoor pickleball courts in Austin! The groundbreaking ceremony went very well and AMAPA was well represented with many members attending. There were members of the City Council, The Mayor and City Administrator, the Park & Rec Department and Ulland Brothers as well as a number of donor representatives in attendance. Several Hormel Foundation board members were there. Tim Penny from the Taylor Family Farms Foundation took the time to attend as did Cory Getz and Joseph Kuchera from Cornerstone. Randy Kramer came by and joined other individual donors in celebrating getting the court project underway. Other major donors who could not attend sent congratulations: Astrup Family Foundation/Sterling Drug, The Austin Eagles, The American Legion, Hormel Foods Charitable Trust and Akkeman. Without them and many other donors the courts would not be built. Thank them when you get a chance. And thanks to all AMAPA members for your continued support. The future for pickleball in the Austin area is bright.
